Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a VR escape room, exactly? A: A VR escape room is a cooperative game where you and your friends use virtual reality to explore a themed environment and solve puzzles together – with the goal of “escaping” or completing a mission before time runs out. It’s just like a physical escape room (where you find clues and unlock locks in a themed room), but instead of being in a real-life set, you’re immersed in a computer-generated world that can be anything. You’ll wear VR headsets to see the virtual world, and you’ll work together to interact with that world and overcome challenges. It’s a perfect mix of the escape room concept and the wow-factor of VR. Q: How is a VR escape room different from a traditional escape room? A: The core idea of teamwork and puzzle-solving is the same. The big difference is the environment. In a traditional escape room, you’re limited by physical walls and props. In VR, the scenarios can go far beyond – you might experience zero gravity in outer space, wield magic in a fantasy realm, or deal with gigantic scaling puzzles that would be impossible to create in a real room. Also, in VR you won’t be physically touching real objects (other than your controllers), but it will feel like you are grabbing and using things. Another perk: there’s no mess or resetting needed in VR; the world resets digitally each time, so everything is always ready and perfect for your game. Q: How many people can play at once? A: Our VR escape games are designed for teams of 2 to 5 players at a time. Everyone will be in the same virtual world together. Playing with friends or family is a blast – you’ll be laughing, shouting clues, and high-fiving virtual hands in no time. But two people can absolutely enjoy it as well. Q: What are the age requirements? Is there an age limit? A: We recommend our VR escape rooms for ages 12 and up. The puzzles and equipment are generally best suited for teens, and adults. Kids under 12 might find the puzzles tricky or the VR headset a bit heavy.  Any players under 14 must have a parent/guardian in the room (either playing or watching), and all minors under 18 will need a parent/guardian to sign their waiver. There’s no upper age limit – grandparents and seniors are welcome to play too! As long as you’re comfortable moving around a little and wearing the headset, you can enjoy VR. Q: Do you accept cash?
A: No — for safety and security reasons, we are a cashless business. All payments are processed through our online booking website using a debit or credit card. This ensures a smooth, secure, and contact-free experience for all guests. Q: I wear glasses. Will the VR headset fit over them? A: In most cases, yes! Our VR headsets are designed to accommodate glasses. The headset has space and adjustable straps to fit comfortably over most eyeglasses. If you have very large frames, there’s a small chance they may not fit perfectly, but our staff will do their best to help. We’ve had lots of players with glasses who have a great experience. Q: Is it safe? I’m worried about tripping or hitting a wall. A: Safety is very important to us. The play area you’re in is a clear, open space – no furniture or obstacles to stumble over. The VR system has built-in boundaries: if you get near the edge of the safe zone, you’ll see a virtual grid or wall appear in your view as a warning. We also have those small tracking markers on the walls (you might notice them when you’re not in VR) which help the system know where you are in the room. Our staff monitors the game as you play, and we’ll give you gentle verbal reminders if you’re drifting too close to a real wall. As long as you follow our guidance (like no running or rough-housing in VR), the experience is very safe. And unlike a traditional escape room, you’re never actually locked in – you can take off your headset anytime if you need to step out. Q: Do we need any prior experience with VR or video games? A: Not at all! You can be a total beginner and still have a blast. The game controls are very intuitive – basically, you’ll point at things and press a trigger, or move your arms just like you normally would. We give everyone a brief training at the start. It usually takes only a few minutes to get used to it. We’ve had players of all ages and backgrounds, from hardcore gamers to people who don’t play video games at all, and everyone ends up fully enjoying the experience. If you know how to walk and use your hands, you’re good to go! Q: What about physical limitations or accessibility? A:Our VR escape rooms involve light physical activity, including standing, turning, and walking within a designated play area. There is no running, climbing, or crawling required.  Unfortunately, due to the current technical and spatial limitations of our setup, our VR experiences are not compatible with wheelchair use. We understand this may be disappointing, and we are actively monitoring future updates in VR technology that may improve accessibility.  If you have other mobility concerns — such as a bad knee, pregnancy, or limited standing endurance — please reach out to us in advance. In some cases, we may be able to adapt your experience or recommend a scenario better suited to your needs. Your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities. Q: What should I wear or bring? A: Wear something comfortable that you can move in. Casual clothes and closed-toe shoes (sneakers) are ideal. Avoid high heels or loose sandals, since you’ll be walking around. You don’t need to bring any special equipment – we provide the VR headsets and controllers. It’s a good idea to empty your pockets and secure any loose items (we have lockers or cubbies for your stuff) so nothing falls out while you’re playing. If you have long hair, tying it back can help prevent it from getting caught in the headset straps. And don’t worry about bringing water; we have water available if you need a break or get thirsty. Q: Are the games scary or kid-friendly? A: We offer a range of game themes. Many are adventurous and family-friendly (like exploring underwater ruins or solving a lighthearted mystery).  A couple of games have mildly spooky elements, but they are more on the fun-thrill side than truly terrifying. If you’re booking for younger kids or anyone who scares easily, let us know and we’ll steer you toward the more whimsical or exciting-but-not-scary games. On the flip side, if you love horror and thrillers, ask us about any special VR experiences we might have that cater to that – we sometimes have a separate haunted VR experience available around Halloween, for instance. Overall, our main games are designed to be enjoyed by a general audience. Q: What if we get stuck on a puzzle? A: Just like in a regular escape room, we’ve got you covered. Our VR games have integrated hint systems that will offer clues if you’ve been stumped on something for a while. Additionally, your Game Master is watching the gameplay on a monitor and can chime in with a hint through the headset audio if you ask for help (or if it looks like you’re really stuck). We want you to enjoy the story and complete the mission, so hints are always available when needed. Don’t be shy about using them – sometimes a small nudge is all you need to get back on track and moving forward. Q: Do I have to sign a waiver? A: Yes, all participants are required to sign a waiver before playing. We strongly encourage signing it digitally ahead of time — a link to the waiver will be emailed to you automatically when you book your session.  If you haven’t signed it by the time you arrive, don’t worry — a QR code will be available at the front desk so you can complete the waiver on your phone. In rare cases, we can provide a paper version, but digital waivers help us get you into the game faster.  Participants under 18 will need a parent or legal guardian to sign the waiver on their behalf. It’s all standard stuff — no surprises in the fine print — just a quick acknowledgment of the rules to help ensure a safe and fun experience for everyone. Q: Can I host a birthday party or team-building event at your VR escape room? A: Absolutely! We love hosting groups and special events. We have a party room available for birthdays, celebrations, or even corporate team outings. Here’s how it usually works: Your group can book one or both VR escape room sessions (we can rotate players if you have more people than the VR can accommodate at once), and you’ll have access to the party room to decorate, set up food, cake, or whatever you need. We offer special packages for events – for example, a birthday package might include a dedicated host, party room time, and maybe a group photo printout. VR escape rooms are a huge hit for birthdays (kids and adults love them) and for team-building because everyone has to communicate and work together. Contact us and we’ll help plan the perfect event for your group, including scheduling, catering options (if you want to bring food or have it delivered), and any other details to make it great. Q: I noticed some weird markers or QR-code looking stickers on your walls. What are those? A: Those are part of our VR tracking system. They may look odd, but they’re essentially reference points that help the VR cameras and software understand the play area. Think of them like anchors that ensure the virtual world lines up exactly with the real world. When your headset “sees” those markers, it knows where you are so it can accurately position you in the game. They’re not part of the game itself and you won’t notice them once you’re wearing the headset. So, no need to worry – they’re just one of the behind-the-scenes tricks that make the magic of VR possible! Q: What if someone in my group just wants to watch, not play? A: We have a spectator screen set up so that anyone not playing can still watch the adventure unfold. If a friend or family member isn’t up for playing in VR, they’re welcome to hang out in our lobby or seating area and observe. They’ll be able to see a TV display that shows what the players are seeing in the game (we usually cycle through each player’s view or show a split-screen). It’s actually pretty entertaining to watch, and spectators often enjoy taking pictures or videos of their VR adventurers acting out the game. Just let us know how many extra people will be coming to watch so we can make sure we have enough comfy space for everyone.

Q: What is the pricing and how long is each game?
A: Each VR escape room experience includes 45 minutes of gameplay. With time for setup, orientation, and gear removal, the total experience lasts approximately one hour.  The standard price is $35 per person, per session. Pricing is per player, similar to traditional escape rooms.  We occasionally offer promotions, group discounts, or seasonal specials — so be sure to check our Booking page for current rates and follow us on social media or subscribe to our newsletter for updates.  Looking to gift a session? We also offer digital gift vouchers — perfect for birthdays, holidays, or just surprising someone with an unforgettable adventure.

Q: How early should we arrive? A: Please arrive about 15 minutes before your scheduled game time. This gives us time to check you in, go over instructions, and fit your VR gear without cutting into your game clock. If you show up late, we’ll do our best to accommodate you, but we may have to shorten your game time if another group is scheduled right after you. We want you to get your full experience, so arriving a bit early really helps. Plus, it lets you and your team get settled, use the restroom, and be ready to dive straight into the fun when your slot begins. Q: What if I need to cancel or reschedule? A: We understand that life happens! If you need to cancel or reschedule your booking, please contact us as soon as possible.  Please see our Terms & Conditions for further details.  We’ll always do our best to work with you – just communicate with us.
